ISABELLA STRANGE
Although Isabella Strange formed amid lockdown, their visceral punk rock sound is rooted in experience as live musicians, having played together for 5 years in various projects. Heavily inspired by the music of PJ Harvey and punk traditions such as riot grrrl, no wave and grunge. Isabella Strange has a distinctly retro sound, blended with contemporary indie rock and alternative pop influences. Their sound and performance style is raw, loose and unpredictable, with an undeniable chemistry between each member.Vocalist Kira Wolfe Murray delivers lyrics ranging from reflections on intimacy and anxiety, to portrayals of cartoonish masculine egotists. Instrumentals can range from hypnotic and progressive — an influence of artists such as Dry Cleaning — to the type of blunt aggression found in hardcore punk.
CHATON LAVEUR carves a wild, unapologetic path through European indie rock. Born in Liège during lockdown, the two-voiced duo Julie (guitar, bass, vocals) and Pierre (drums, keys, vocals) blend the motorik pulse of 60s–70s krautrock with the textures of 90s indie and shoegaze. Their music is minimalist yet immersive, driven by relentless rhythms, obsessive loops and bittersweet melodies sung in French and Spanish.
After more than 70 shows across Europe alongside acts such as Stereolab, Corridor and Girls in Hawaii, Chaton Laveur returns in 2026 with Labyrinthe, their second album. Recorded in Paris, the record explores time, image, connection and self-searching, unfolding as a hypnotic journey where repetition opens unexpected territories.
For fans of Beak>, Broadcast, SUUNS, Stereolab or Blonde Redhead, Chaton Laveur lives at the crossroads of krautrock rigor and pop sensitivity. Intense, uncompromising, and made to be experienced live.
