To develop a hybrid instrumental approach in which each musician integrates electronics as a fully organic element; to reconcile the precision of finely crafted composition with the spontaneous drive of improvisation; to invite listeners into the sway of asymmetrical grooves that become effortlessly fluid. These are the challenges this trio takes on, delivering a bold, forward-moving jazz that reshapes the listener’s bearings—if they’re willing to go along for the ride.
Pyrotyri (CH)
Pyrotyri delivers a fiery, composed yet festive jazz, where a flute ignites electric grooves. The Lausanne-based quintet draws on the exuberance of nu jazz and the legacy of jazz fusion, crafting a sonic exploration driven by singable melodies and swinging rhythms.
PROPULSION #4 is a support programme and career accelerator aimed at leaders of jazz and related music projects from France, the Grand Est region, Luxembourg, French-speaking Belgium, and French-speaking Switzerland. Propulsion is funded by the Œuvre Nationale de Secours Grande Duchesse Charlotte, the Grand Est Region, the Centre National de la Musique, the BNP Foundation, Adami, FAZZ, and Kultur LX.
