From the way music is composed to who ultimately holds the licensing rights, we are facing a radical transformation: The paths to the audience are shorter than ever before, but the competition is global and relentless. While platforms provide access to millions of songs, digital exploitation presents artists with new financial challenges.
The artist Angela Aux (Florian Kreier) explores the questions surrounding digital transformation in culture, particularly in the field of music. His new album, "Das Nichts macht Kopien von sich Selbst" (Nothingness Makes Copies of Itself), addresses this tension. On November 27th, EwB invites you to a concert with Angela Aux at De Gudde Wëllen , where the band will present their new album – and afterwards open the concert hall for a discussion with guests about the technologies that are changing our everyday lives. Too many fundamental questions remain sparsely answered or barely considered in our daily lives.
What are the common AI tools that now seem to be a constant companion to music making? What does this mean for creating art? For inspiration and creation?
The worldviews of transhumanism and posthumanism are also now being discussed, and more or less clearly conceal strange ideologies that (among other things) seek to overcome humans as deficient beings.
Hasn't art, and music, always been a realm, an intermediate space between theory and practice, where the world and current events can reveal themselves anew? The panel discussion is diverse: voices from art and culture, marketing and the AI business, as well as philosophy and critical theory, come together to discuss the topics mentioned above. As is typical for the EwB, this is not a discussion "by us for you," but rather a collaborative exchange with the audience.
The evening is aimed at art and culture enthusiasts, music lovers, IT aficionados, and anyone who (like all of us) needs to grapple with the new questions arising from the pervasive digitalization in order to form their own opinions. It requires a critical examination of technological trends and hyped narratives.
